Executive Summary
At Robert Heath Heating (a member of the DAIKIN group), we believe that apprenticeships are the foundational "building blocks" of long-lasting, homegrown careers. In partnership with Clarion Futures—the charitable arm of the Clarion Housing Association—we have developed a robust apprenticeship program designed to bridge the industry skills gap and provide meaningful employment opportunities to Clarion residents.
A Collaborative Strategy
Our relationship with Clarion Futures goes far beyond a standard recruitment pipeline; it is a collaborative effort to ensure long-term sustainability and social value.
-
Tailored Support: Clarion Futures provides pre-employment support, including mock interviews and training opportunities.
-
Accessible Roles: To attract candidates who face geographical or personal barriers, RHH implemented full-time work-from-home and hybrid apprenticeship models.
-
Dedicated Mentorship: Apprentices are integrated into the business from day one with hands-on development plans and immediate inclusion in team communications.
Success By The Numbers
By investing in our staff from the ground up, this alliance has yielded highly skilled and loyal professionals:
-
80% Retention Rate: 4 out of 5 Clarion Futures apprentices remain within the business long-term.
-
100% Qualification Success: All candidates who moved on to new opportunities did so only after fully completing their qualifications.
-
30+ Candidates Engaged: Actively reached through recent induction and mentoring workshops.
Spotlight on Homegrown Talent
Our program is changing lives by breaking down traditional barriers to employment.
-
Zara Moran: Assuming apprenticeships were just for school leavers, Zara joined us at 35 as a single parent. Benefiting from the home-based nature of the role, she successfully completed her qualification and is now a full-time Client Services 1st Line Support Administrator.
-
Sajay Martin: Joining as an 18-year-old Gas Operative apprentice in 2021, Sajay mastered complex fault repairs. Today, he is a full-time Gas Engineer who has completed specialised training on Air Source Heat Pump maintenance.
Future-Proofing & Green Technology
Through Daikin's acquisition of RHH, our apprentices now have access to state-of-the-art technical showrooms and training centres. By training operatives from the ground up in newer, renewable technologies, we are actively bridging the gap in qualified renewable engineers and delivering sustainable services for our clients.
"It isn't just about filling the numbers... It's about giving them real long-term opportunities. And that's something that at Robert Heath we're very proud of."
